What to Wear: KK FASHION WEEK
Posted By: KK on 02/1/12 3:46 PM | Categories: What to Wear
Ah what to wear to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center? It is an exciting somewhat dyslexic week when we are bundled up in winter’s wool, while on display in the windows are fashions of early spring and resort, and then reporting on the new runway styles for next fall – it is enough to give a girl a fashion identity crisis. We tend to keep it simple and comfortable, except for killer heels, of course. Definitely a dress that will transition from day to night with a few choice accessories. Since it can be chilly at Lincoln Center, we like a sleeve or a little weight to the fabric and knits are especially versatile. We will let our Fashion Editors like Nicole Hanley Mellon do the up-to-the-minute looks, while ours remain classic and chic. We went shopping at Net-A-Porter for this super collection.

What to Wear: Jason Wu for Target
Posted By: KK on 01/31/12 11:10 AM | Categories: What to Wear
Taiwan-born, New York-based designer Jason Wu first made headlines (literally) at age 26 when newly appointed First Lady Michelle Obama sashayed and swayed in a stark white, silk-chiffon, one-shouldered gown by the then unknown designer at the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Ball. We could not be more excited for the Jason Wu and Target collaboration . . . the Jason Wu for Target limited-edition collection of women’s apparel and handbags debuting Sunday, February 5th. Catapulted into the spotlight, Jason has quickly emerged as one of the most influential designers of today, offering unique and distinctive styles in clean, classic silhouettes. He’s bringing the same relaxed elegance to Jason Wu for Target. Jason said, “My collection for Target embodies my signature aesthetic of feminine sophistication, with a mischievous nod to the 1960s.”
Who could forget this spectacularly triumphant dress.
Ranging in price from $20 – $60, the chic clothes, handbags and silky smooth scarves are contemporary and feminine in whimsical prints and patterns. Among his collection inspirations – a playful, little black cat adorned with a red neck scarf. See our list of must-haves below, we cannot wait to start shopping!
You can’t wrong with any of these feminine frocks.
Love the fabulous bags as well.
And we cannot get enough of this cute little kitty cat!

Chinese New Year begins on January 23 and is an opportunity to celebrate some lively traditions, like giving red undies to your loved ones. We went shopping at J Crew to find this vibrant assortment of reds to wear to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Chinese New Year is like Christmas celebrations. In addition to dances and firecrackers, families spend time together giving gifts and feasting. The action promises to be fast and furious as the world’s top professional players compete in the famed glass court. What to Wear: The New American Wing at the Met
Posted By: KK on 01/18/12 2:53 PM | Categories: What to Wear
Do not miss the stunning, newly reopened American Wing at the Met. The Museum’s collection of American art, one of the finest and most comprehensive in the world, will return to view in expanded, reconceived, and dramatic new galleries on January 16, 2012. The new installation will provide visitors with a rich and captivating experience of the history of American art from the eighteenth through the early twentieth century. The centerpiece of the new installation is one of the best-known works in all of American art, Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze’s 1851 painting Washington Crossing the Delaware. For the re-hanging of this magnificent work, a large and stately gilded frame has been painstakingly recreated by Eli Wilner & Company from a recently discovered photograph of the painting from 1864. Click below a link to the New York Times Art Review.
For what to wear to stroll the galleries at the met we were inspired by the romance of uniforms and military style and went shopping a SAKS.com for an assortment of blazers that are perfect for wearing now and straight into spring. If you think you already own one of these, look again, the new jackets are shorter and shaped for a flattering silhouette. For a great on-trend look, pair with one our our of beautiful SILK BLOUSES.
You can salute this a pop of bright color.
