Purses & Pursenalities Luncheon

We’re off to the 5th Annual Purses and Pursenalities Luncheon, hosted by Madison Square Boys and Girls Club and honoring Barry Kieselstein-Cord, Kim Renk Dryer of Sequin and Douglas Hannant.   The Master of Ceremonies is Rosanna Scotto of Fox TV’s Good Day New York.  The lunch is generously sponsored by 1stdibs and features fabulous handbags auctioned off by some amazing designers such as Tory Burch, Nicole Miller, Chloe, DVF, Gucci, and Ferragamo! What to wear to a luncheon of this kind? Naturally, we’ve opted for the  brilliant designs of the honorees themselves: a perfect black and white look from Douglas Hannant‘s Fall 2010 Collection, Kieselstein-Cord‘s gorgeous Signature Accessories and finally, Sequin’s stylish Crown Pin.  For more information on this great cause go to Madison Square Boys and Girls Club.com!

Travel: Paris Fashion Week

Posted By: KK on 09/29/10 12:23 PM | Categories: Travel

To celebrate Paris Fashion Week, we went on a French-frenzied shopping spree at Net-a-Porter to find the most fabulous French fashions from our favorite designers.  We thought about what to wear and came up with this stylish knit from Catherine Malandrino that fulfilled our fantasy of great style and comfort. To be ever more organized, we checked the Parisian weather and found some naughty rain showers on the scene; we will dress for the damp weather with this gorgeous Sonia Rykiel Trench paired with the See by Chloe Wellies that will keep you dry (not to mention more comfortable!) while running to and from Les Beaux Arts, the Tuileries and everywhere in between. Stash your classic Louboutin slingbacks (also good for staying above puddles) in this stylish Chloe Tote and you’re good to go! Under it all, feel like a fabulous French woman in these saucy knickers from Agent Provocateur.
For more info on Paris Fashion Week go to Style.com -  and even better, if you find yourself lucky enough to be in the city of lights during this momentous week, don’t forget to check out our favorite Parisian experts at Girls’ Guide to Paris.

Workplace Dressing: Menswear-Inspired Looks for Workplace

Posted By: KK on 09/28/10 7:22 AM | Categories: Workplace Dressing

Wall Street: Money Never SleepsWhat to wear to work is one of our biggest topics, so we thought of no better time than the present to channel the savvy corporate style from new release “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” Michael Douglas reprises his Oscar-winning role as the fabulously portrayed villain Gordon Gekko in all his glory and well, greed, while Shia LaBeouf plays Gekko’s estranged daughter’s fiance. We can’t get enough of the visually thrilling sequel, as the New York Times review says: “Visual extravagance has always been among this director’s calling cards, and here he aims his eye squarely at the spots where material excess intersects with genuine beauty.”
We thought would get that powerhouse feeling with updated menswear-infused yet totally feminine looks for workplace. We practically guarantee the corner office when you wear this fall trend of fabrics done to perfection with sophisticated tailoring and draping. With this selection of fantastic pinstripes and tweeds from Diane von Furstenberg to Dolce & Gabbana and Akris to  Michael Kors, dressing for work can be a pleasure. As Gekko himself said, “it’s not about the money, it’s about the game!”

What to Wear: Beretta Tweed Sportswear

Posted By: KK on 09/24/10 2:16 PM | Categories: What to Wear

I spy with my little eye perfectly polished Beretta attire to keep you chic from the city streets to the country roads.  We are loving the tweed trend right now and Beretta’s classic sportswear is flawlessly in fashion.  Since 1526 the Beretta name has emulated quality, design, construction and performance far beyond its Italian origins and has established quite the tradition throughout its fifteen generations.  We took a glimpse at their 2010 Fall and Winter collection and are mad for the entire lot!  From the camel-checked coat and corduroy combo to the perfect hunter green feather fitted hat and leather boots.  For further information regarding purchases  please contact Beretta.  If you are in NYC stop by their store at 718 Madison Avenue store, t. 212.319.3235… And don’t forget to tell them who sent you!

What the Chairs Wear: Celebrate the Great Outdoors

NFWf

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation is holding its annual event on Saturday, September 25 at the Tudor Investment Campus in Greenwich,  Connecticut. “Celebrating the Great Outdoors” is the theme of this action-packed party honoring Terry Betteridge of Betteridge and hosted by CBS’s Katie Couric. This is the most fun and fabulous fête where the activities include archery, an ATV obstacle course, hot air balloon rides, a ropes challenge course, a trout fishing pond, zipline, and many, many more! The dress code is “Blue Jean Preferred” and we naturally complied with our new faves, MIH London Bootcut Jeans then had some fun and went to Orvis for the necklace and Cabela’s for the Creel Fishing Bag to accessorize the outdoorsy look.  And we couldn’t resist the Tory Burch updated booties and the ultra-cool jewelry from Kara Ross to give a modern day twist on the theme. For further information, please contact NFWF@EventAssociates.com. The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation preserves and restores our nation’s wildlife species and habitats. To find out more about the mission of the great organization, please go to National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

What to Wear: Camel and Tan Hues

Posted By: KK on 09/24/10 12:01 PM | Categories: What to Wear

We love these camel and tan hues that soften the season’s transitions from summer to fall. It answers the question of what to wear when bidding farewell to the whites, lights and brights of warmer weather and getting ready for a little chill in the air. This leather dress from Top Shop is an absolute must-have of the season, buy it now before it disappears. The same goes for the Tory Burch coat (as seen in the September Issue of Elle Magazine) which we tried on in the shop on Fashion’s Night Out and bought on the spot. The other trends we are sporting are the chunky loafers and relaxed pant look and gorgeous tan bags like this Proenza Schouler satchel. What to wear when you want something sweet, how about a little camel, caramel and cream for a dreamy Dulche de Leche!
