What to Wear: Lunch Uptown or Down

Posted By: KK on 06/30/10 12:51 PM | Categories: What to Wear

What to wear to lunch? Our go-to outfit for summer in the city is the classic shirtdress and we love this Burberry updated style that can go uptown or down. Our young "mentors" from Crossborders took us to a working lunch at the hippest of settings atop Soho House, a private members' club and boutique hotel.  Later same week, with a change of accessories, we were ready for a ladies' lunch uptown at Sant Ambroeus.  For more summer shirtdresses, see our Day Dresses and Luncheons collection.

Sports and Fitness: Tennis Trends at Wimbledon

Posted By: KK on 06/29/10 4:08 PM | Categories: Sports and Fitness

We love watching Wimbledon Championships at the All England Club and spotting such trendy tennis stars such as Sharapova, the Williams sisters, Anna Kounrikova and even Hungary's Timea Babos.  When women first began to play tennis in the 1860s, heavy materials such as flannel and even wearing a bustle was deemed appropriate.  It was Maud Watson, who won the first Wimbledon Ladies' championship in 1884, who popularized the white tennis trend as it masked perspiration.  Wimbledon still request players to withstand this tradition.  Creating more subtle fashion moments such as the Spaghetti Strap Trend rather than at past championships, such as Venus' racy number at the French Open or even the pink trend at last years US Open.  We love this classic yet feminine look both on and off the court– here are our favorite looks of the season.  Can't get to the championships this year?  To listen live, check scores, watch videos of matches, or for a televised schedule, go to Wimbledon.org.

Travel: French Chic

Posted By: KK on 06/24/10 1:45 PM | Categories: Travel

Alors! Traveling in style can be quite the challenge especially when heading to the fashion hotspot of the world: Paris! To avoid a fashion faux pas, we went straight to Tory Burch and found everything for a weekend in Paris from what to wear on the plane, to sightseeing, to out on the town. Talk about prêt-a-porter?! When packing it is important to choose a color scheme, in this case we went noir and blanc, as well as neutrals – which means you can mix and match and create more outfits with less gear. All of this fits nicely in a carry-on bag.  Each item we packed has a hint of stretch so you can wear your items right out of the suitcase. Top off your looks with Tory’s tres chic accessories and bon voyage!

We are so excited to be introducing our W2WW Book Club with our friend, Danielle Ganek's  new book The Summer We Read Gatsby. It is a comedy of manner about two sisters who must set aside their differences when they inherit a house in the Hamptons. The Denver Post reports  "A fully engrossing page turner filled with delightful characters and sumptuous details about one perfect July in the Hamptons. Like summer itself, this bewitching novel will leave you half in love and yearning for more."  Could there be a more divine summer read?  For more information about Danielle, please visit DanielleGanek.com.
