What to Wear: A Snake Hunting We Will Go

Posted By: KK on 03/30/11 5:11 PM | Categories: What to Wear

Unless you have slithered under a rock, you have heard of the latest threat to the safety of the New York Citizenry – the escape of the dreaded Cobra from the Bronx Zoo Reptile House! Having had some close and personal experience with a Black Mamba (the world’s most dangerous snake!) in the wilds of the South African plains, we are more than up to the challenge of this hunt and how to dress for it. The most important items are a good pair of boot and a 20 gauge . . . . .  er stick. So if you are setting out on your own snake safari, don’t forget your Snake Bite Kit and a copy of Worst Case Scenario!

Oh dear, it’s March and suddenly all of my coats were looking a little heavy and warn out, exactly like I feel after the long and cold winter! Knowing that great spring coats can really make an outfit and perk up a girl’s spirit, I went to see Viva Bhogaita at the Carlisle Collection to see the new line for the season and found a wonderfully versatile selection.”

Make sure to check out the book: Work It!: Visual Therapy’s Guide to Your Ultimate Carear Wardrobe

What to wear to a Job Interview? W2WW went straight to Bloomingdales.com and found the perfect ensemble creating a “Classic and Chic” look to keep you confident and composed in any interview situation.  We loved the classic look of this Tahari sheath and jacket combo in a modern grey tone. The jacket even comes with a belt which adds a feminine touch to a suit.  We went with patent pumps, a black trench and a chic embossed black tote with a leopard organizer to keep you completely put-together for such an important introduction.  Keep your jewelry fussy-free, such as these with gold knotted studs, a menswear-inspired watch and a fun-geometric cuff.  We added a printed scarf to personalize the look. Confidence is key and by not having to worry about what to wear, we hope you can channel your inner-strengths. Good luck!

What to Wear: Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

Posted By: KK on 03/25/11 11:55 AM | Categories: What to Wear

Now that spring has sprung we thought we would go shopping for sunglasses and created a guideline to find the best silhouette for your face shape.  Simply follow the steps below and select the frame to best suit you- we even included celebs in their shades to help you pick. Let the sunshine in and rock a new spring sunglasses trend! Need some inspiration?! Watch our Shop the Street Style: Sunglasses webisode where we stalked the NYC streets for stylish shades.

RoundFaces

Eva Mendes, Drew Barrymore, Kate Winslet

Round Face: If you have a round face it means it is almost as wide as it is long.  The goal is to select frames that make your face look slimmer and longer, meaning that as wide as the broadest part of your face.  TIP:  Rectangle and Angular shaped frames work best.

RoundSunglasses

Clockwise: Oliver Peoples Candice Upswet Sunglasses ($295), Victory Beckman Modrn Cat Oval-frame Sunglasses ($470), Rose Metal Oversized Sunglasses ($32), Yves Saint Laurent Animal-print Square  Sunglasses ($295), Pieces Viola Nude Overzided Sunglasses ($26),  Carrera Gisele Sunglasses ($120)

SquareFaces

Nicole Richie, Sandra Bullock, Demi Moore

Square Face: If you have a square face your jaw is broad and and your jawline is angular and “square-like”. Which means that your the sides of your face are straight and your cheekbones, jaw and forehead are the same length. TIP:  Look for frames that have a curve in them/round-shape.  We found that a ’70s type style works best for a square profile.

SquareSunglasses

Clockwise: Modo Talitha Sunglasses ($325), YSL Round-frame Sunglasses ($275),  Asos Oversized Metal Detail Sunglasses ($20), Gucci Round-frame Sunglasses ($245),  Dior Madraga Cutout Sunglasses ($295), Prada Oversized Round Sunglasses ($245)

OvalFaces

Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie

Oval Face: If your face is oval then it is slightly longer than it is wide.  Your jawline is slightly rounded and your face can be divided into 3 horizontal sections between the hairline, eyebrows, end of nose and chin.  Lucky you, most frame-shapes fit your silhouette! TIP: Look for frames that are wider or as wide as the broadest part of your face.  You can wear anything from an aviator to a wayfarer style.

OvalSunglasses

Clockwise: Tory Burch Modern Square Sunglasses ($165), Jimmy Choo Gwen Sunglasses ($245), Modo Fisher Sunglasses ($325), Marc Jacobs Round Tortoise Sunglasses ($110), Topshop Navigator Sunglasses ($30), Gucci Square-Frame Sunglasses ($245)

Heart-ShapedFaces

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Kate Hudson

Heart-Shaped Face: If you have a heart-shaped face it is longer than it is wide and your jawline is pointed and is normally the narrowest part of your face.  The aim is to accentuate your cheekbones and jawline.  TIP: Cat-eye styles work best as well as rimless metal frames.

Heart-ShapedSunglasses

Clockwise: Dior Lady Cat Sunglasses ($295), Prada Phantom Sunglasses ($290), Topshop Triple Stud Sunglasses ($32), MODO for Jennifer Creel Jamie Sunglasses ($325), Gucci Young Project Cat Eye Sunglasses ($220), Gucci Oval Frame Sunglasses ($325)

Oblong

Gwyneth Paltrow, Iman, Sarah Jessica Parker

Long/Oblong Face: If you have an oblong face the length of your profile is greater than it is wide and your jawline is softly rounded usually meaning your forehead, cheekbones and jawline are the same width. TIP: Oval shaped frames with a gentle curve work best, think wrap-around and aviator styles.
