Fitch's Corner 2015

There are so many wonderful things happening at Fitch’s Corner Weekend, July 18 -19. We don’t know where to start. Let’s just begin with the raison d’être, Fitch’s Corner Horse Trials, a fabulous event for horse lovers and riders of all ages. Here is a perfect description of the discipline: Eventing could be termed an “equestrian triathlon.” It involves working with a horse both on the flat and over fences. The three phases are: dressage, endurance, or cross-country, and show jumping. This year’s event is attracting interest from all levels of sports enthusiasts, from weekend hobby riders to professional international stars. For more information, go to Fitch’s Corner.  Spectating is free, and it is the most delightful way to spend all or part of a day.

With an invitation that calls for jeans and “South of France” attire for the 22nd Annual Blue Jean Ball, we channeled Van Gogh‘s famous painting, Starry Night, and shopped sponsor, J. Mclaughlin for soft patterns of blue.  A halter top and white jeans are all you need to get the party started.   Then we said si vous plaît to these statement jewelry pieces, and fun country-side hat and scarf. When Fernanda says Sexy Merci”, we say “Sexy Oui!

It’s Sunday and Time for the Luncheon

Fitch's Luncheon 2015 Invitation (1)

For what to wear to the Spectator Luncheon, that continues the  Van Gogh theme, we trotted over to Michael Kors on SALE, playing up those florals and yellows for this sunny day under the tent.  Raffia clutches and wedges complete the look, set in the sunflower fields of Provence.  If you forgot your hat, don’t fret! You’ll find a beautiful selection at the Madder Hatter’s shop in the tent.
