The Horticultural Society of New York’s New York Flower Show and Dinner Dance is a lovely and lively celebration of the influence of floral and garden design in society and the importance of flowers in our urban landscape. On Monday, April 27, premier floral, fashion and interior designers will transform The Pierre into an over-the-top floral extravaganza with towering tabletop displays. The Hort, along with the co-chairmen of the evening, Bruce W, Addison, Huguette Hersch, Kamie Lightburn, Mario Nievera, Frances Schultz, Sheila Stephenson, Elizabeth F. Stribling & Guy N. Robinson, and Mary Van Pelt, will recognize Robert Couturier, legendary architect and decorator, and Barbara Israel, distinguished antique garden ornament dealer and author, with the Award of Excellence. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit The Horticultural Society of New York.
For what to wear to a fantastic floral fete, we went shopping at Nordstrom to pick a fragrant bouquet. The trio of St. John frocks are all ON SALE, but please note: order one size down, and you will most likely need a little hemline adjustment, as they tend to run on the longer side. If in doubt, order two sizes and keep the one that fits you best. We kept the shoes classic and simple, then found some fresh accessories to enhance the blossoming theme.
