what to wear luncheon Roger Vivier

On Thursday, February 5th, The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s  most glamorous gals will gather for a sumptuous seated lunch at Master Chef Daniel Boulud’s signature restaurant DANIEL. This year’s SMSKCC Winter Lunch is elegantly chaired by Gretchen Gunlocke FentonJamee GregoryEmilia Fanjul PfeiflerGillian Hearst SimondsAmanda Taylor, and Caryn Zucker, along with Honorary Chairman and Roger Vivier brand ambassador, Ines de la Fressange. For more information, please call The Society Office at 212-639-7972.

For what to wear to such a festive well-heel event, we started with Roger Vivier, the generous sponsor of the Winter Lunch.   February is the month of voluminous shades of pinks and reds, so we put together an luncheon ensemble that mixes and matches the hues in an interesting combination of pattern and texture. Ladies who Lunch know that when you step out in Roger Vivier shoes and bagyou don’t need much else to complete your look – a Diane von Furstenberg Tweed Sheath, a piece of designer statement jewelry and you are on your way to a fabulous day.

Roger Vivier designs are referred  to as the “Fabergé of Footwear,” and he is accredited with creating the first stiletto heel in the 1950’s.  He designed extravagant, luxuriantly embellished shoes he described as sculptures.    Ava Gardner, Gloria Guinness and The Beatles were all Vivier customers, and he designed the shoes for Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953.
